The National Examinations Council (NECO) Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for the final year of Junior Secondary School (JSS 3) – also known as Junior WAEC – is now open for registration online.

The 2023 NECO BECE is only for school-based candidates in Nigeria and abroad, for the avoidance of doubt. NECO BECE Registration Procedures for 2023
This is to inform applicants that the 2022 BECE registration will be both OFFLINE and ONLINE.
BECE Offline Registration
Schools must obtain the BECE 2023 offline application from the Council’s website, www.neco.gov.ng. The user manual for the step-by-step offline and online registration process is also available for download on the Council’s website. To avoid data loss, schools should enter all of their candidates’ bio-data offline and only synchronize online on a periodic basis. Make sure that all potential candidates are registered offline so that they can be posted online once they pay. Please keep in mind that a candidate is only registered if his or her offline entries are uploaded online and a registration number is obtained. Payment of registration fees is required for online upload.
How to Register for NECO BECE Registration Form 2023
- The offline registration form is also available on the Council’s website, www.neco.gov.ng.
- Payments must be made solely through the NEC portal. Registration quota is allocated based on the amount paid into the NECO TSA after successful payment.
How to Upload Candidates’ Data on BECE Registration Portal
The following is the procedure for uploading candidates’ data to the website:
- Make sure your computer is connected to the internet.
- Start the offline program.
- Select “Payment and Upload” from the drop-down menu.
- Select “Check Payment” from the drop-down menu.
- To log in, enter your administrator login credentials.
- Candidates should be chosen and uploaded as needed.
How Much is BECE Registration Form 2023
The following are the fees for the examination and other connected goods that have been approved:
- Registration fees – 8,700.00 Naira (Mandatory fee)
- Late Registration – 2,000.00 Naira per candidate – (Mandatory fee)
- Re-Sit Exam – 3,000.00 Naira per subject per candidate
- Correction of Name – 2,500.00 Naira per candidate
- Unviable Fee – 12,500.00 Naira (for centers that registered less than 20 candidates)
Both OFFLINE and ONLINE registration will be available for the BECE in 2023. There is no longer any manual registration available. Offline entries of candidates’ registration data have taken the place of manual registration entries.
When will BECE NECO Registration Begin?
